Coming off our amazing stay at the Four Seasons Orlando, I decided for my Friday Five to list our five favorite Disney hotels we have stayed at, and why. There are a plethora of hotels around Disney to choose from, but these hotels stand out above the rest!
1. Four Seasons Orlando
While not technically a Disney hotel, it is by far my favorite place to stay when coming to the Disney parks. It is a gorgeous hotel, with spacious and luxurious rooms, top-notch restaurants, and the best outdoor recreation area of any hotel in Central Florida. Choose from a pool, splash pad, toddler wading area, water slides, lazy river, volleyball, basketball and games like pool or Foosball to keep you entertained while not at the parks. Not to mention the kids club, which is included in your stay, where you can drop your kids off for some group activities while you enjoy a little R&R for an hour or two.
To get your Disney fix, they offer a character breakfast twice a week, which we thoroughly enjoyed! This character experience was worth the money versus other ones we have done – they really take the time to visit with the guests! They also offer complimentary shuttles to the Disney parks on a schedule, or if you don’t want to wait, they have private transportation on standby ready to go (at an additional fee). It also was less crowded and crazy to me than other Disney hotels we have stayed it, giving us a nice relief at the hotel from the parks! The best was the end of our evening – watching the fireworks from our balcony. Perfect end to a perfect day!

2. Animal Kingdom Lodge
I love this hotel! The ambiance, decor, music and animals make it feel like you are really on an African safari. I highly recommend getting a room overlooking the savanna, as you can have a coffee on your balcony with a special guest – a giraffe! Our kids loved watching the animals from outside their room.
The amenities are endless, the pool area is fantastic, and the restaurants are especially delicious. (I think it has the best restaurants out of any Disney hotel!) While you are not adjacent to any of the parks, bus service is provided to and from all the theme parks so you do not need a rental car. One of our favorite family hotels!
3. Disney Yacht & Beach Club
The Disney Yacht & Beach Club has two main attractions to it: its proximity to Epoct (you can walk there!) and its pool area, called Stormalong Bay. If you have any water lovers if your party, this hotel might be perfect for you. Stormalong Bay features three main areas, with a lazy river, a pool with slides, and a shallow sand area, making it the perfect area for toddlers to splash and make sand castles in.
The Disney Yacht & Beach Club is also connected to Disney Boardwalk, which offers more entertainment and dining choices that you can walk too. Be sure to hit Beaches restaurant on property for a juicy burger and heavenly shake! (If you really have a sweet tooth, be sure to order the Kitchen Sink) After a fun day in the pool or park, end your evening from the comfort of your own balcony watching the Epcot fireworks. We love this hotel for families!
4. Disney’s Grand Floridian
The Disney’s Grand Floridian ranks in our top 5 mainly for its location – it is hard to beat. You can take the monorail to Magic Kingdom directly from the hotel, making it easy to come back in the afternoon for a quick break or nap. You also have a wonderful view from here of the fireworks that Disney sets off every night. It is one of the older hotels, but it has historic charm and beauty that makes it a favorite!
5. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
The Wilderness Lodge is just a boat ride away from Magic Kingdom, giving it a good location compared to some other parks. It has a charming wilderness cottage feel to it, giving it a more understated look than other resorts, but still a cozy feel. This resort has nice walking trails around it and lets you explore a little more of nature. While I would prefer the other 4 listed above to this hotel, is still is a wonderful hotel at a good value for Disney.
